While the Blues won their match week 10 fixture, both Liverpool and City suffered an upset in their respective fixtures.

Tuchel's charges hammered Newcastle United 3-0 at St James' Park, with Reece James scoring a brace to inspire his side to a vital win.

Liverpool, on the other hand, surrendered a two-goal advantage against Brighton to settle for a 2-2 draw at home.

Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane both struck twice for the Reds before Enock Mwepu and Leandro Trossard found the back of the net to earn a point for Brighton.

Meanwhile, the biggest upset of the day came at Etihad Stadium where champions City were stunned 2-0 by Crystal Palace in a match that saw Aymeric Laporte sent off.

The results from the weekend mean Chelsea now have a slight title advantage over the two EPL heavyweights who are hot on their heels.

The west Londoners are now three points clear of Liverpool at the summit of the Premier League.

However, Tuchel is not getting carried away, insisting his charges must remain focused.

"There will never be a moment where we celebrate the results on the other pitches,’ Tuchel said after Chelsea’s win over Newcastle," he said.
"It’s first of all far too early, second of all we want to focus on ourselves and third of all what goes around comes around, we don’t do this, there’s a long way to go," he added.

Man City stunned

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported Crystal Palace took the lead early on as Wilfried Zaha capitalized on an error from the Manchester City defense.

City’s match took a turn for the worse at the stroke of halftime when Aymeric Laporte was shown a straight red.

The visitors doubled their lead late on courtesy of Conor Gallagher, who rifled in off the post.

The defeat at home was a huge blow to City, who fall five points behind leaders Chelsea, who saw off Newcastle 3-0.
