Konate from the German Bundesliga side joined the Reds as their first summer signing as they prepare for the coming League term.

Jurgen Klopp was under serious pressure last season even though the German and his wards ended up finishing third on the final Premier League table.

According to the official statement made by Liverpool, the Reds stated that Ibrahima Konate has completed his medical and officially joined the club.

"Liverpool Football Club have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig," the Merseysiders said in a statement.
"The 22-year-old defender has agreed a long-term contract with the Reds from July 1, subject to international clearance and a successful work permit application process, after finalising terms and passing a medical," the statement added

As a result, no fewer than four players have been allowed to leave the club including Liam Coyle, Joe Hardy, Abdi Sharif, and Jack Walls.

The affected players were part of the developmental squads on the Merseyside with Walls, in particular, impressing in 2020/21, scoring six times.

But with opportunities in the first team likely to be at a premium, the four have been confirmed on Liverpool's list of released players.

Highly-rated left-back Yasser Larouci has been offered a new contract as the new 20-year-old assesses his options.
