English club Leicester City have been drawn against Dutch side PSV in the quarterfinals of the 2021/22 UEFA Europa Conference League.

The Foxes progressed to the last eight of the competition on a 3-2 aggregate against Stade Rennes and are now ready to lock horns with the Eindhoven-based club.

Leicester City managed to avoid other big guns such as AS Roma, Marseille or Champions League regular Slavia Prague in this round and will square up with second-placed PSV.

Thus, Black Stars defender Daniel Amatey will be looking forward to a straightforward clash with PSV as they push for a place in the semi-finals.

Amartey has starred in defence for Brendan Rodgers' side in Europe, featuring in the entirety of the four games Leicester City have played in the 2021/22 Europa Conference League.

Quarter finals draw

Amartey's Leicester will face either Roma or Bodo/Glimt in the semi-finals if they beat PSV.

The other quarter-final draw also saw former Champions League winners Marseille paired with PAOK of Greece, while Feyenoord -- another past European Cup winner -- will play Slavia Prague.

The final of the new third-tier continental competition will be played in the Albanian capital, Tirana, on May 25.

Ghanaian Defender Leads Leicester City to Face Stade Rennes

Sports Brief earlier reported that Ghana international Daniel Amartey was part of the Leicester City team that traveled to face French club Stade Rennes on Thursday.

The Black Stars defender will be in action when the Foxes face their French counterparts in the second leg round of 16 UEFA Europa Conference League fixture.

Goals from Marc Albrighton and Kelechi Iheanacho were enough to hand Leicester City a 2-0 victory against Rennes at the King Power Stadium in the first leg on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
