How Lotito vs Mourinho began

Sports Brief reported that Gianluca Mancini and Alessio Romagnoli clashed in the dressing room after the Lazio player celebrated in front of the Roma dressing room.

Mourinho and Lotito tried to separate the players but got into a fight of their own. Lotito reportedly boasted by saying he was the President of Lazio and asked the Special One who he was.

The Rome derbies are always filled with adrenaline. Maurizio Sarri's side got one better of Mourinho by completing a season double thanks to a goal from Matti Zaccagni.

It was a game that saw a total of five red cards brandished before the dressing room scuffle between Lotito and Mourinho.

What happened between the two?

Lotito has now claimed there was a naked Roma played walking along the corridor before his tiff with Mourinho.

The Portuguese manager only linked up with his squad at full-time as he was serving the second of his two-match touchline ban.

Lotito commented, as per Football Italia:

"I celebrated the derby like any other moment, matches are won and lost, but there is great satisfaction from the team and support from the fans."

The Lazio chief explained he was 'all for respect' and did not 'utter words'.

"I saw a scuffle between one of my players and a Roma player. One thing that did not go down well with me, was that there was the Roma player completely naked in the corridor. I stopped and Mourinho shouted at me ‘What are you looking at?’
"I thought he hadn’t understood that I was the president of Lazio and I pointed it out to him, he went on."

Lotito further stated he had never told Mourinho he could not be there and had only explained who he was.

"We didn’t argue because I don’t argue with anyone; it’s a problem of roles that have to be respected."

It remains to be seen whether the Serie A will be interested in taking further action.
