Brian Baloyi Finally Explains What Was in His Toiletry Bag to Robert Marawa

Every South African football fan who watched him play at some point asked what was inside Brian Baloyi's toiletry bag.

In the colours of Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana, 'Spider-Man' was renowned for always putting the toiletry bag inside the net he was minding.

This led to many theories about what was inside it, with some believing it was muthi.

Speaking to Robert Marawa on 947, Baloyi answered the burning question by saying:

"The bag and the towel... I have already answered it a long time ago. It's something that I saw Gary Bailey and the ones before him, like Peter Schmeichel [do]."

Baloyi explained that in the United Kingdom, goalkeepers used to carry a towel with them in a bag, which he emulated.

"Remember, sometimes if it's raining, you have to clean your gloves. In the bag, you carry an extra pair of gloves because anything can happen. You change the gloves if you don't need these ones. Then you carry a lot of water."

It remains to be seen if his answer will satisfy curious fans.
