It didn't take long for local football fans to come up with jokes about the reasons Thomas Tuchel was in South Africa.

The former Chelsea coach was seen in a photo with a happy fan out at one of the beaches in the scenic city of Cape Town.

South African football fans could not resist the opportunity to come up with their wild theories. Many hoped that he would end up coaching one of their favourite teams, including the likes of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
