Follower @marcelismo26, who appears to be Chilean and backed by many others, made it a point of responding to this tweet by bringing attention to an even more spectacular goal by Felipe Gutierrez for Universidad Catolica, against Audax Italiano in the Chilean Primera División.
He said in a tweeted reply, translated as follows:
"@fifacom_es here is the goal of the year, the work of Felipe Gutiérrez #Puskas"
Gutierrez showed remarkable vision, instinct and technique to catch the Italiano goalkeeper off his line with a remarkable 70-metre half volley.
Maart: FIFA praises wonder goal
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Yusuf Maart's goal against Orlando Pirates last Saturday in the Soweto Derby remains a hot topic in the world of football.
However, former FIFA referee Ace 'Mr Spot On' Ncobo, trying his best not to rain on his parade, said on SuperSport's Extra Time that there was a foul leading up to the goal.
Orlando Pirates goalkeepers remain victims of superb goals
Orlando Pirates cannot seem to catch a break when it comes to conceding 'worldies' that will never be forgotten, as reported by Sports Brief.
The latest came via the educated right foot of Yusuf Maart, who chipped over Buccaneers goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane from behind the halfway line, for what could be the DStv Premiership Goal of the Season already.
It is also quite possibly in the conversation for nomination among the next batch of FIFA Puskas Award-quality goals.
