Musona bagged a brace and forced an own-goal at Soccer City as the Amakhosi ran out 3-1 winners against the Buccaneers.

As reported on a gleeful Chiefs website:

"Daine Klate scored an own goal in the 7th minute of the match to get Chiefs on their way, before man of the match Knowledge Musona scored the first of his two goals from the penalty spot just before half time, his second in the 61st minute was a master class in finishing as he made the most of a lapse in the Pirates defense to put Chiefs 3-0 ahead. Ezenwa Otorogu got a late consolation for Pirates as Chiefs cruised to a 3-1 victory."

Hardly a month later, Chiefs would thump their opponents 3-0 in the Telkom Knockout final as Ruud Krol and his men could not find an answer to Vladimir Vermezovic's charges

Soweto Derby Rewind: Jerry Skhosana scores hat-trick as Orlando Pirates hammers Kaizer Chiefs in BobSave Superbowl

In October 1996, Pirates was drawn against Chiefs in the semifinals of the BobSave SuperBowl at the Old FNB Stadium in front of a packed 80 000 seater.

Jerry Sikhosana would entrench himself in the annals of local football history, scoring a hat-trick past a hapless Brian Baloyi and Amakhosi in a thumping 4-1 victory, where the Buccaneers led 3-0 at one stage. Midfield maestro David Modise pulled one back to make the score 3-1, with Chiefs threatening a comeback.

However, Mkhalele put paid to this with the Buccaneers' fourth to underline a famous victory.
