  • Victor Letsoalo has, for the first time, spoken about his much-publicised but failed move from Royal AM to Kaizer Chiefs
  • Letsoalo recently turned out in the colours of the ambitious Sekhukhune United to much surprise
  • This triggered a ruction within Thwihli Thwahla's boardroom, with Letsoalo blaming everything on "politics"

Politics are alleged to be blamed for Victor Letsoalo's failed move from Royal AM to Kaizer Chiefs.

The 29-year-old striker suddenly turned out at Sekhukhune United after being linked with the Amakhosi for most of last season.

The Citizen also reported that Orlando Pirates had him on their radar, but this never materialised.

Letsoalo said to SABC Sports:

“It’s not that I didn’t want to join Chiefs or Pirates, I came here because this is the opportunity that presented itself.

“I think the whole Chiefs interest became a bit political, that’s maybe why I did not go to Chiefs and ended up here at Sekhukhune, and I am satisfied with that.”

About joining Babina Noko, he added:

“I saw this as a big opportunity when Sekhukhune came calling. I chose them because I am from Limpopo and I have played for Baroka in the past, so this club is from my home team and that is what motivated me to sign for them. I think they are also a big brand like the big clubs – they are all in the Premier League aren’t’ they? And I am happy here.”

Royal AM CEO Sinky Mnisi was reportedly suspended for all the shenanigans surrounding Letsoalo's departure, which was allegedly not sanctioned by owner Shauwn Mkhize and club chairman Andile Mpisane.

Sinky Mnisi calls press conference to explain his Royal AM suspension

More drama is expected from the suspension of Sinky Mnisi in his capacity as Royal AM CEO.

As reported by Sports Brief, Mnisi has reportedly called a press conference set for today to clarify his suspension. There are also whispers that he might announce his suspension.

Last week, owner Shauwn "Mamkhize" Mkhize caused more confusion regarding the situation instead of providing the much-needed clarity.
