Zwane has been serving as an interim coach alongside Dillon Sheppard ever since Stuart Baxter was sacked by the club.

Numerous names were linked with the coaching role during that time but fans believed that Zwane deserved the chance to lead the Soweto giants. Zwane has been handed a three-year contract. Dillon Sheppard will serve as the assistant coach.

Speaking during the press conference, Kaizer Motaung Jnr said that without a good foundation, the club could not achieve success. He added that Zwane proved he was loyal to the club and worked his way up with all the structures within the club.

Kazier Motaung Snr also had high praise for Zwane and asked fans to support him. Quoting Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi, he made the call to fans to support South African coaches and not to point fingers at them or criticise them.

Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Arthur Zwane seems to have backing for a permanent head coaching gig at the Amakhosi.

Kaizer Chiefs' sporting director made it clear that he believes Zwane is the right man to lead the club.

It is not known how much of a bearing this will have when the powers-that-be within management decide who will be appointed as the head coach next season.
