Prior to Dolly’s goal, the game was an entertaining affair as both sides had numerous chances to break the deadlock. Kaizer Chiefs missed a host of headers in the first half, and the second, which had Arthur Zwane getting up from his technical area to lambaste his players.

Dan Malesela also appeared unhappy with his Baroka charges as they failed to punish the Amakhosi.

They paid the price for their missed chances when Dolly’s long range effort deflected off a Baroka defender and flew past a diving King Ndlovu and into the back of the net.

Baroka almost hit back immediately but saw two efforts saved by Bruce Bvuma in the Chiefs’ goal.

Speaking after the game, Arthur Zwane gave credit to his team for grinding out a result. He added that the more his side plays, the better they will get. He also praised the team for being disciplined and compact during the match.

Malesela cut a different figure during his post much talk. Malesela was unhappy with the team’s performance, saying that they committed so many errors against a team that they should have beaten.

AmaZulu remain unbeaten under Brandon Truter, beat Swallows while Supersport United and Stellenbosch draw

AmaZulu FC remained unbeaten under Brandon Truter as they beat Swallows FC in the DStv Premiership earlier today. Usuthu have now picked up three wins and one draw with Truter in charge.

Truter was brought in to replace Benni McCarthy after AmaZulu owner Sandile Zungu admitted that the club needed change. The clash between AmaZulu and Swallows saw Truter come up against his former side, Sowetan LIVE reported.

Speaking ahead of the game, Truter admitted that it was sentimental for him to play against Swallows but wanted to walk away with the three points. Truter got his wish thanks to Sphesihle Maduna’s goal in the 68th minute of the game, Soccer Laduma reported.
