  • Kaizer Chiefs legendary goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune reminded football fans of his exploits by sharing a video on his Instagram account
  • The clip shows him in sensational shot-stopping form against Amazulu in an ABSA Premiership match from the 2017/18 season
  • Khune's continued exclusion from the starting XI at Naturena has been the subject of continued debate in recent times

Forgotten Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper Itumeleng Khune tugged at the heart-strings of Amakhosi fans by sharing on Instagram a video of his past exploits between the sticks.

The clip, accompanied by music, was of him pulling off three sensational saves against Amazulu in a match from the 2017/18 ABSA Premiership season.

Taking place at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban, the match went on to end 0-0 as reported on IOL. The video was accompanied by the caption "Batlogele, leave them, loss hulle and Bayekele ABabazi lutho".

Khune's exclusion from the starting lineup at Naturena has been an ongoing subject of debate in local football. The arrival of goalkeepers like Daniel Akpeyi, Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen has led to Khune's sidelining at Chiefs, where his contract will expire at the end of next season.

He gave a telling response recently to a Twitter user who questioned his lack of game time at the club. Khune responded with a terse "Eish, Fam" after @asemanglemang showed him love despite his continued absence.

The tweet from @asemanglemang read:

"@KaizerChiefs what did @IIKHUNE_32_16 do for not getting game time. Whatever he or he did we apologise on his behalf... but never forget what he has done to the team. We still love and value him."
