Cristiano Ronaldo has teamed up with his former Juventus teammate, Leonardo Bonucci to help the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday morning.

An earthquake with a magniture of 7.8 rocked southern Turkey and northern Syria, leaving more than 10,000 dead.

According to figures from Reuters, more than 300,000 are set to be displaced by the catastrophe.

World leaders and personalities have continued to send in their tributes and well wishes, as the two countries grapple with one of the worst disasters in recent times.

Ronaldo has gone a step further, by deciding to put up one of his signed jerseys for auction. The proceeds from the auction will be channelled into helping victims of the earthquake.

Demiral reveals Ronaldo, Bonucci's efforts

Merih Demiral, a Turkish international and a former teammate of Ronaldo, revealed that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner had agreed to donate a signed shirt.

Demiral, who now plays for Atalanta, revealed Bonucci had also agreed to the plan.

"I just spoke with Cristiano. He said that he was very sad about what happened in Turkey. We are auctioning Ronaldo's signed jersey in my collection. All proceeds from the auction will be used in the earthquake zone."

Turkey goalkeeper dies in earthquake

Sports Brief also reported on Turkish goalkeeper, Eyup Turkaslan tragically losing his life after the catastrophic earthquake that hit his home country.

Turkey and Syria suffered devastating tremors on Monday morning that have claimed thousands of lives, in what is arguably the worst disaster of this year.

Turkaslan was among those trapped in the rubble and his club, Yeni Malatyaspor has since confirmed that he passed on, while his wife was saved.

Ghanaian player pulled from wreckage

After days of mounting concern, Christian Atsu has been rescued alive from the rubble of a residence in the Hatay area of Turkey.

The 31-year-old was among trapped in the rubble of the building, which collapsed after the devastating earthquake on Monday.

Just hours before, Atsu had scored the winning goal for his club, Hatayaspor in a Turkish Super Lig game against Kasimpasa.
