  • Massimiliano Allegri insists he does not feel he is in danger of being sacked by Juventus
  • This is despite The Old Lady succumbing to a 2-1 defeat to Benfica in the Champions League
  • Defeat meant it is the first time ever that Juve lost their opening two Champions League group stage games

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has reiterated that he is not worried about his job after his side’s second successive Champions League defeat.

In Group H, The Old Lady are without a point in their opening two games, and their latest 2-1 defeat at the hands of Benfica summed up their current predicament.

Despite starting brightly and taking the lead through Arkadiusz Milik in the fourth minute, Juventus then conceded a penalty just before the break which was converted by Joao Mario.

Ten minutes into the second half and Juventus went behind as David Neres netted what proved to be the winning goal.

Defeat to Benfica followed a similar scoreline loss against PSG in their first game a week ago, but Allegri expects the Juventus board to back him.

'I don't feel my job here is in danger. It's normal to have these moments in football,' he told reporters after the game as per Daily Mail.

Asked whether he felt the pressure, the gaffer said:

"Absolutely yes, we have a bit of difficulty but there are a few players missing,"
"We must work with calmness and with the responsibility of all."

Juventus will hope to bounce back to winning ways when they take on Monza in the Serie A on Sunday, September 18.
