  • Lacklustre Juventus had to settle for a point against Fiorentina, with the former champions failing to get a shot on target in the second half
  • The result and lack of threat in front of goal will give Massimiliano Allegri things to think about as they prepare to face Paris Saint-Germain
  • Luka Jovic missed a penalty that could have handed Juventus their first loss of the season

Juventus dropped points for the third time this season as Fiorentina held them to a one-all draw at the Artemio Franchi Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Juventus might have preserved their unbeaten record this season, but they remain winless in their last four visits to Fiorentina.

New signing Arkadiusz Milik opened the scoring rather bizarrely in the 9th minute, with fellow new player Filip Kostic providing the assist.

The lead only lasted 20 minutes after Fiorentina launched a counterattack with Christian Kouamé at the end of it to end Fiorentina's long goal drought. Fiorentina then had the chance to go ahead just before halftime from the penalty spot.

Leandro Paredes, who was making his bow for Juventus, handled the ball inside the penalty area. He was, however, lucky to see Luka Jovic's tame effort saved by Mattia Perin, who pushed it to the post.

The second-half was a dull affair, with Juventus failing to register a shot on target ahead of their crunch tie against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Juventus are now fourth on the table while Fiorentina are 10th.

Jose Mourinho wins Serie A coach of the month for August

Sports Brief has also reported that José Mourinho has been adjudged as the Serie A coach of the month for August following Roma's inch-perfect start to the Italian top-flight.

The 59-year-old manager inspired the Rome-based outfit to three wins and a draw in the August fixtures - scoring on six occasions while shipping in only one goal in the process.

Mourinho will receive his well-deserved accolade during the pre-match of Roma vs Atalanta, scheduled for Sunday, September 18 at 6.00 pm at the Stadio Olimpico.
