  • Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic scored an outrageous freekick to help his side beat Spezia 2-0 in the Serie A
  • It was the striker's second free kick goal in as many games after scoring a similar goal against AS Roma
  • In a game marked by few chances, Juventus snuffed out Speziá's threat to go into fourth with eight points

Dusan Vlahovic continued to cement his status as one of the upcoming proper free-kick takers in the sport. The striker scored an audacious freekick from way out to put Juventus on their way to a 2-0 victory over Spezia on Wednesday night.

It was the second successive game that the Serbian hitman scored from a freekick after his heroics against AS Roma over the weekend.

New signing Arkadiusz Milik came off the bench to score his first goal for Juventus to confirm maximum points. Vlahovic needed just nine minutes to score for Massimiliano Allegri's side.

The first half was, however, blighted by the injury to number one choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny who had to be substituted just before the break with an apparent ankle injury.

Vlahovic's goal was the only shot on target Juventus had in the first half. Allegri reacted to the lacklustre display by introducing Angel Di Maria and Filip Kostic seven minutes after the restart.

It was a disappointing game for both sides, with Spezia getting their first shot on target after 75 minutes.

The new defensive partnership of Gleison Bremer and Federico Gatti held firm to deny the visitors any clear-cut chances. Milik then came off the bench to round off a victory that saw Juventus maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli criticises his side after a goalless draw

Sports Brief had earlier reported that AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli was thoroughly critical of his side after a 0-0 stalemate against Sassuolo in the Italian Serie A.

The Rossoneri only managed to collect a point at the Mapei Stadium, the same place where they won the Scudetto just three months earlier.

Sassuolo should be credited for the resolute manner in which they went at defending against the champions.
