Eriksen sent the football world into panic back in June 2021 after he collapsed while in action for Denmark during the Euro 2020.

At the time, the midfielder had just played a short pass when he fell face-forward onto the ground. reported his teammates immediately signaled for medical help before he was rushed to the hospital after CPR was performed on him.

While his health has since improved significantly since then, it has emerged he will never feature for Inter Milan again or any other Serie A side.

An ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) is understood to have been fitted on the former Tottenham ace to monitor the rhythm of his heart.

But according to the Italian FA rules, a player fitted with an ICD is not allowed to play in Serie A.

Inter Milan have since released a statement on Eriksen's current situation, revealing the midfielder has a green light to play again but will have to do that elsewhere.

"With reference to the registration rights of the player Eriksen it should be noted that following a serious injury which occurred during the European Championship in June 2021, the player has been temporarily inhibited by the Italian medical authority from sporting activity in the current season," Inter said in his statement.
“Although the current conditions of the player don’t meet the requirements of achieving sporting fitness in Italy, the same could instead be achieved in other countries where the player could resume competitive activity," the statement added.

Where Eriksen could play

The Sun reports Inter could therefore be open to letting Eriksen leave in order to allow him to resume his career.

The midfielder will have to move to a country that would allow him to play in his current condition.

One such country is the Netherlands where Ajax star Daley Blind who also has an ICD planted currently plies his trade.
