  • Romelu Lukaku produced one of the most embarrassing first touches during Inter's clash vs Monza
  • The Belgian forward was attempting to control the ball, only for him to take it out of play for a throw-in
  • Lukaku's awkward first touch left his teammates who were on the substitutes' bench in stitches, including Dzeko, who he had replaced

Inter Milan ace Edin Dzeko could not help but laugh after his teammate Romelu Lukaku inexpertly controlled the ball out of play during their Serie A clash against Monza on Saturday.

Lukaku came on as a substitute during the encounter, replacing Dzeko in the 55th minute.

However, it did not take long before the out-of-form Belgian forward was involved in an embarrassing situation with the ball.

His poor ball control skills and awkward first touch left his own teammates in stitches, including Dzeko, who was caught on camera with a wide grin.

Monza hold Inter

However, the smiles were wiped out soon after as Lukaku's mistake allowed Monza to launch a last-gasp attack and equalized moments later via Denzel Dumfries, who directed the ball into his own net.

Inter were the first to score, with Matteo Darmian needing just 10 minutes after the kick-off to break the deadlock.

Monza's Patrick Ciurria went on to equalize for the hosts a minute later before Lautaro Martinez restored Inter's lead in the 22nd minute.

Inter's draw at Stadio Brientao left them sitting fourth in the Serie A standings with 34 points.

Lukaku becomes laughingstock

Meanwhile, Lukaku's embarrassing first touch came just days after he became a laughingstock of Napoli substitutes after poorly controlling the ball during Inter Milan’s clash against Napoli on Wednesday, January 4.

Sports Brief reported the Chelsea loanee is infamous for having a bad first touch and this was evident during the Serie A encounter against the league leaders.

Having missed most of Inter’s games due to a stubborn injury, Lukaku got the chance to help his side as he was picked to start the fierce clash against Napoli.
