Christian Atsu's first born son, Joshua Atsu Twasam, quickly got over his father's death as he displayed smooth dancing skills during a family meeting at their house in Accra.

Joshua together with his mother, grandparents and siblings were in Ghana for the final funeral and burial of his father.

Atsu was laid to rest on Friday, March 17, 2023 after he tragically died following the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria last month.

In a video shared on social media, Atsu's son is seen performing the popular traditional Adowa dance. His grandmother joined as family members were thrilled to some excitement.

Atsu was trapped under the rubble of his apartment for 12 days before his lifeless body was recovered on February 18, 2023.

His three children with wife Marie-Clair Rupio paid tribute to their father on his funeral.

The tribute reads:

"We missed you, dad
"You loved us for who we were and accepted us for who we were striving to become.
You always made us smile and filled us with strength.
Your strength gave us a sense of protection and love.
Now that you are in heaven, we know that you will continue to protect us.
Thanks for being our dad.
We will always love and miss you.
Rest well, dad."

Atsu made 65 appearances for the Black Stars, scoring nine goals but has been out of the last since 2019. The ex-Chelsea star decided to stay away and concentrate on his club career.

His last involvement in football was scoring the winner for Hatayspor in the league game against Kasimpasa on February 5, 2023.

Wakaso arrives at best friend's funeral

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mubarak Wakaso travelled from Belgium to Ghana to witness the final funeral and burial rites of best friend Christian Atsu.

Atsu was laid to rest in his hometown in Ada on March 17, 2023.

The former Ghana international sadly passed away after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023.
