The situation has left many worried including his wife, who remains anxious as the search for her husband continues.

"All I know currently is, his agent is in Turkey and he is trying to get to the place where it happened," she told the BBC.
"They know where the building is and they are trying their best to rescue everybody. They know there are people trapped under the rubble but they don't have the equipment necessary to get them out. So he is still missing and we don't know where he is.
"It's quite shocking if the club is saying he has been found and taking to the hospital alive and eleven hours later my children had to hear it on the radio saying that they still don't know where he is.
"His agent is there and I know he will be able to bring us the news we want.
"He spoke to the children last time on Saturday morning and that was the last time I heard from him."

Atsu netted the winner for Hatayspor on Sunday in their match against Kasimpasa, few hours before the disaster struck.

Atsu remains missing

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that officials of Turkish Super Lig club Hatayspor, have disclosed that Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu is yet to be found, 48 hours after he was trapped under rubble following an earthquake in Turkey.

On Tuesday, reports indicated the 31-year-old has been pulled out of the wreckage alive, a day after he went missing.

However, latest information trickling in from the club states that the player is still trapped with sporting director Taner Savut.
