Multi-talented Ghanaian footballer, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, has revealed that his mother gave him the options of choosing to become a footballer or an athlete.

Kyereh, who was good at various sports, ended up choosing football. A decision that has paid off as he represented Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar.

Born in Ghana, Kyereh moved to Germany at a tender age, where he started playing football and other sports including Basketball.

And with his mother struggling to move him around from one sport to the other, she asked him to choose his favourite.

“It started when I was a little kid in Braunschweig (Germany), which is a small village. I started playing football and athletics,” Kyereh told Pulse.com.gh.
“Those were my passion around that time and I just had fun playing football, it became over the years too much for my mum to bring me back and forth with both sports so she asked me to decide and I said I liked football more.”

Kyereh has seen a quick rise to his career after moving from the Bundesliga 3 to the Bundesliga in a space of three years. The 26-year-old played for Ghana at AFCON 2021 and the World Cup in Qatar.

He joined Freiburg in the summer transfer window from St Pauli.

Kyereh reveals Neymar as favourite player

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana midfielder, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has named Brazilian forward, Neymar Junior as his childhood hero, stating he watched and learned from the PSG star.

Kyereh, who plays for Freiburg in the Bundesliga, is loved by Ghanaians for his contributions to the Black Stars since making his debut in September 2021.

The 26-year-old represented Ghana at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup in 2022.

Kyereh scores for Freiburg

Ghanaian midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh scored for the third game running as SC Freiburg travelled to Berlin to pick a point against Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga.

The 26-year-old opened the scoring for the visitors after 22 minutes with a fine strike in the 2-2 draw on Sunday.

Kyereh met a pass from midfielder Doan Ritsu and made no mistake from inside the box to break the deadlock.
