Black Galaxies midfielder, David Abagna has expressed excitement after starring in Ghana's comeback win against Sudan at the CHAN tournament.

The Real Tamale United captain was named Man of the Match, as the Black Galaxies rallied from a goal down to win 3-1 in Constantine.

The Sudanese team took the lead through Al Gozoli Hussien Mohammed on the half-hour mark.

The Black Galaxies responded before the break via Hearts of Oak defender, Konadu Yiadom however, before second-half strikes from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Suraj Seideu ensured Ghana completed an impressive comeback.

"Personally, I told myself I cannot go down after conceding the goal against Sudan. This was the make-or-break affair for Ghana. We came with a plan, and we needed to stay focused. We are happy about the result," Abagna said at a post-match presser.

Ghana's home-based team will now wait for the result from the final Group C game between Madagascar and Sudan, to determine their position.

The group became incomplete after two-time champions, Morocco decided to withdraw from the tournament at the eleventh hour.

Walker happy with Ghana win

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Galaxies coach, Annor Walker has praised the character of his team after a sensational comeback victory against Sudan

Ghana was pegged down early in the second Group C game at the CHAN tournament, after the north Africans took the lead.

However, a spirited second-half performance saw the west Africans end the game 3-1, through goals from Hearts of Oak trio Yiadom, Barnieh and Seidu.

Ghana beats Sudan 3-1

The Black Galaxies of Ghana recovered from their opening day defeat at the CHAN tournament in Algeria, to beat Sudan 3-1 in their second Group C game.

After conceding first, Ghana responded through Hearts of Oak defender Yiadom, before his club teammates Barnieh and Seidu sealed victory in the second half.

The game, which saw frequent VAR interventions, saw a third goal from the Black Galaxies ruled out for offside, before Barnieh was sent off.
