Both these nations crashed out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in a tough Group H which also included winners Portugal and runners-up South Korea.

The Asians, West Africans and South Americans were stuck in a three-way race for second place in the final match of the group stage, with the Europeans safely through. However, it was Korea who snuck into the Round of 16 while the other two nations cancelled each other out.

Bleacher Reports Twitter account used a video as the perfect analogy of how this drama panned out. It involved Andre Ayew, Luis Suarez, Heung-min Son waiting at a lift, which represented advancement into the second round.

World Cup 2022: How Black stars players reacted to their group stage elimination

Two days after Ghana's elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup, players of the national team have taken to various social media platforms to react.

While many shared their pride in representing the country, others were disappointed with the team's performance and have promised to bounce back strongly in future.

The Black Stars were booted out of the tournament after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Uruguay in their final group game at Al Janoub.

Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has shared words of encouragement with Black Stars captain Andre Ayew following his penalty against Uruguay.

The Al Sadd forward missed the chance to give Ghana the lead after his spot kick was saved by Sergio Rochet as the South Americans went on to eliminate the Black Stars from the World Cup.

Ayew was replaced after the break as the four-time African champions struggled against the former World Cup winners.
