The 2022 FIFA World Cup is upon us, and the world anticipates some exciting fixtures which will take place during the group stage of the competition.

Spain will take on Germany in one of the mouthwatering fixtures as the encounter is billed to be held on November 27.

Another match the world is anticipating is the Ghana vs Uruguay encounter, as both teams are drawn in Group H alongside Portugal and South Korea.

Spain vs Germany

It is their fifth meeting at the FIFA World Cup, and no doubt, Spain vs Germany is the group stage match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

From their previous meetings, Germany have a fair advantage with a 2-1-1 record, but this is only the second time since the reunification of East and West Germany that the pair will meet at the global showpiece.

The last time both teams met was back in 2010, and it was the Spaniards that won the encounter courtesy of a fine strike by Carles Puyol as La Roja went on to defeat the Netherlands in that final.

A high-quality fixture is expected between these two on Sunday, November 27, at Al Khor, and no one knows where the result will swing.

Ghana vs Uruguay

This is expected to be a grudge match as the Black Stars will be gunning for outright revenge for how the South Americans shattered their hearts back in 2010.

It occurred in Johannesburg and remains one of World Cup history's most incredible and controversial moments.

In the 120th minute, Luis Suarez denied Dominic Adiyiah’s header on the line with his hands before Asamoah Gyan’s spot kick rattled the woodwork.

Uruguay went on to win the penalty shootout, but now Ghana have a huge chance at revenge.

England vs Wales

Having been away for 64 years, Wales are back to football’s biggest stage and facing neighbours England in the FIFA World Cup is expected to be a highly intriguing game.

During their only appearance at the World Cup, Wales reached the quarterfinals before losing to eventual champions Brazil.

And now they are back, and they will surely have it incredibly difficult in Group B, as they also have to face England and Iran.

Argentina vs Mexico

This will surely be a tantalising encounter involving two great footballing nations with some memorable games down the years square off in Group C.

It will be the fourth time both teams will meet at the global showpiece, and Mexico have never defeated La Albiceleste, already losing twice to the same opposition this century.

Both teams clashed at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, with Carlos Tevez getting a brace to help the squad led by the great Diego Maradona to win the tie.

Fans will look forward to knowing that Mexico would love to finally beat this incredibly talented Argentinian team when it matters the most.

Qatar pulls off opening ceremony masterpiece

Sports Brief earlier reported that Qatar proved to the entire world why they deserve to host the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup with a stunning opening ceremony at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.

The biggest football festival across the face of the earth has been drenched in an ocean of controversies; however, on Sunday, November 20, hosts Qatar ensured the negative narrative is nipped in the bud.

The World Cup hosts pulled off a masterclass of an opening ceremony which saw celebrated American actor Morgan Freeman headline the event.
