Footage of Thousands of Fans Cheering Black Stars During Arrival in Qatar Emerges

Thousands of Ghanaian football fans welcomed the Black Stars in Doha during the arrival of the team ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

The players, management team and technical members arrived in Qatar in the famous traditional attire, Fugu.

In a video posted on social media, the fans who were protected by Qatari police sang and chant names of the players as they descend from their bus to their hotel.

Ghana return to the World Cup after missing the 2018 edition in Russia four years ago, and after the 2-0 win against Switzerland in a friendly on Thursday, fans are expectant of the team.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group H alongside 2016 European champions Portugal, Asian giants South Korea and inaugural winners Uruguay.

Ghana arrive in Qatar in style

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that the Black Stars of Ghana announced their presence in Qatar in a fashionable way after arriving in traditional wear on Friday.

The team touched down in Doha on Friday evening after leaving Abu Dhabi, where they spent the last four days.

Ghana will head to their base where the final leg of preparations start ahead of the opener against Portugal on Thursday.

Ghana beat Switzerland in friendly

Defender Mohammed Salisu and forward Antoine Semenyo scored their first goals for the Black Stars as Ghana beat Switzerland in their final friendly ahead of the World Cup.

Salisu's second half lofting header and Semenyo's powerful strike ensured the Black Stars leave for Qatar with their confidence boosted.

Switzerland started off well with Ruben Vargas coming close in the 6th minute after meeting a cross from Breel Embolo from the right.
