An Italian diplomat in Ghana, Massimiliano Colasuonno Taricon has jibed a Twitter follower, telling him to learn how 'to turn on his brain' after commenting on his post about Felix Afena-Gyan's World Cup omission.

The 19-year-old is reportedly one of the players dropped for the tournament to be staged in Qatar from next month.

The Italian consul showed support for the Cremonese player, encouraging him to keep his head up.

"⁦Felix Afena-Gyan, you have given your contribution to bring the black stars to the world cup. They have decided to take away a dream from you; it's just a hiccup. Time is on your side and the best is yet to come," he wrote on Twitter.

However, a follower on the social media app questioned if Italy would have invited a less active player to their squad for a World Cup.

His comment attracted the wrath of the diplomat, who asked him to use his brain the next time he tweets.

"When you learn to turn on the brain before writing then you will get an answer"

Coach Otto Addo is expected to name his team this week, with the World Cup set to start in 11 days.

Asamoah Gyan reacts to exclusions

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Asamoah Gyan has joined the conversation online, following the omission of three players from the Black Stars team ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 36-year-old, who will miss the World Cup, has been monitoring events with regards to the senior national team.

According to GHANASoccernet, Joseph Paintsil, Majeed Ashimeru and Felix Afena-Gyan have all been dropped by coach Otto Addo ahead of the announcement of his final squad.
