Black Stars coach Otto Addo has announced a 55-man provisional squad for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

The list sees several players making a return to the team, including Spezia captain Emmanuel Gyasi and Italy-based Caleb Ekuban.

The Ghana coach has also handed maiden call-ups to Patrick Kpozo, Salis Abdul Samed, Dauda Mohammed, Ernest Nuamah and Kamal Sowah.

The team will be pruned to 26 players before the final squad is named on November 15.

Ghana is making a return to the World Cup after missing the 2018 edition in Russia four years ago.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay. Ghana will begin their tournament with a clash against Portugal on November 24.

They will then play South Korea before reviving their rivalry against Uruguay.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana will spend over $8 million at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, according to the country's Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif.

The four-time African champions qualified for the World Cup after beating rivals Nigeria in the play-offs in March, and will be making a return to the tournament which starts on November 20.

Ghana are in a tough Group H which also features Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
