Sulley Muntari has solemnly apologised to former Black Stars management team member Moses Parker, eight years after the World Cup brawl.

The former Inter Milan player was sacked from the camp at the World Cup in Brazil over disciplinary issues.

The ex-Hearts of Oak midfielder revealed he felt remorseful after the incident and has since been looking for Parker to beg for his forgiveness.

"I don’t disrespect elders so it will take a lot of things for me to react. Unfortunately, he was sitting in front of me and things got really bad," Muntari said as quoted by Pulse.

Muntari said he felt bad about the incident not only for Parker, but also for his daughter, his wife and his family.

"It’s not right for someone to disrespect their father. I’ve looking for him to apologise to him for my behaviour at that time, but I have not seen him yet."

The former Black Stars player added that he wanted to extend his apologies to Parker for disgracing the man and making people ridicule him.

"It was not intentional to do something like that. Whenever I see him, I will find a way to apologise to him directly. He is an elder and I’ve been looking for him for a long time. I’ve no bad feelings about him. It was not him but the situation."

Although he never had the chance to talk to Parker, Muntari stated he had no problems with him specifically at the World Cup in 2014.

"It was a pile of things that led to me bursting out. I’m someone who doesn’t talk and when I work, I work really hard.”

Muntari played in the games against USA and Germany, but was banished from the team before the Portugal match.

The Black Stars exited the tournament at the group stage after picking up just a point.

Sulley Muntari on Manchester trials

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Sulley Muntari has finally opened up on his brief time at Manchester United during the early days of his career.

The former Ghana midfielder travelled to England for trials at Manchester United, but failed to secure a deal because he had no international experience.

Despite his lack of international appearances at a senior level, United made him join feeder club Royal Antwerp in Belgium.
