Ghana Head to the World Cup With Unwanted Record After Latest FIFA Rankings

• Ghana has dropped in the latest FIFA Coca Cola Rankings released on Thursday with just a little over a month to the World Cup
• The four-time African champions dropped down one position and will head to the World as the lowest ranked team
• The Black Stars have been drawn in a tough group ahead of the tournament which starts in November in Qatar

The Black Stars of Ghana will head to the 2022 FIFA World Cup as the lowest ranked country after the latest FIFA Coca Cola Rankings was released on Thursday, October 6.

Ghana dropped a position down to 61st following a mixed performance during the international break, where the Black Stars lost to Brazil and beat Nicaragua.

Out of the 32 teams heading to the World Cup, Ghana's position places them last and this will remain unchanged until December 22.

Brazil, who defeated Ghana 3-0 in a friendly last month, sit top of the rankings followed by Belgium and South American rivals Argentina in the first three positions.

Ghana's Group H opponent Portugal are in the top 10 and place ninth while Uruguay drop to 14th and South Korea move up to 28th.

On the continent, Senegal stay top and are 17th globally, while Morocco (2), Tunisia(3) and Cameroon(7) who are all going to the World Cup find themselves in the top ten.
