Dancehall King Shatta Wishes Black Stars ‘Good Luck’ Ahead of Japan Game

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, known in private life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has sent warm wishes to the Black Stars ahead of their game against Japan in the Kirin Cup tournament.

Ghana will square off against the Asian giants, who double as hosts of the tournament in one of the semifinal games of the four-nation tournament.

In a post on Twitter, sighted by Sports Brief, the 'I know my level' hitmaker charged the Black Stars to give off their best in the test game against Japan.

Coach Otto Addo, who is unbeaten in four games since taking over as the head coach of Ghana, has his work cut out ahead of the Japan encounter.

A raft of players from his initial 33-man squad have been forced to leave camp due to injury or players having to join their clubs to sort out their future, leaving the 47-year-old with a squad of 18 players.

Meanwhile, legendary Ghanaian forward Asamoah Gyan has disclosed he was Shatta Wale's classmate and has revealed the true character of the multiple award-winning Dancehall artiste.

Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known in Showbiz as Shatta Wale, is usually regarded as a rude character due to his outspoken and firebrand outlook.

But Asamoah Gyan gave a contrary view of Shatta Wale's character as against the general opinion of the latter being pompous.

Ghana shares the spoils with Central Africa Republic in 2023 AFCON qualifiers

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mohammed Kudus scored for the second game running as the Black Stars of Ghana were held to a 1-1 draw by the Central African Republic in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The game, which was played in Angola, was marred by Jonathan Mensah's injury in the second half following a collision with a Central African Republic defender.

The defender had to be rushed to the hospital after a lengthy spell on the pitch, receiving treatment from the team's medics.
