Kevin-Prince Boateng has opened up on his memorable encounter with former South Africa President Nelson Mandela.

The 35-year-old met Mandela in 2010 following Ghana's quarter-final exit at the hands of Uruguay in South Africa.

The Ghanaian contingent were invited by the late President after their last game, and it was during the meeting that Nelson Mandela told him his daughter wanted to marry him.

"Everybody was going crazy for me so we go into the room and everyone says: “Hello, hello, hello” and he shook my hand and he pulled me towards him and he said: “My daughter wants to marry you," Boateng said as quoted by Daily Mail.
"I said: “Sorry I already have a girlfriend,” and he said “no, no but I have others!”," Boateng added.

Kevn-Prince Boateng was one of Ghana's best players at the tournament as the Black Stars reached the semi-finals of the World Cup for the first time. He scored in the 2-1 win over USA.

The German-born Ghanaian after the World Cup secured a big move to AC Milan, where he won the Serie A in 2011.

These days he plays for boyhood club Hertha Berlin, a club he rescued from getting relegated in the just ended campaign.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has revealed how a promising career almost got thrown away following his lavish lifestyle as a young footballer.

The Hertha Berlin star recovered from a distractive way of living to become one of the best Ghanaian players abroad, but feels he could have been better if he had not gone through that patch in his life.

According to Ghana's 2010 World Cup star, he once bought three cars in a day but realize he was young and stupid at that time.
