Legendary Ghanaian forward Anthony Yeboah was not left out of Frankfurt's Europa League success as he travelled to Spain to watch the final against Rangers.

Yeboah witnessed his former club Eintracht Frankfurt defeat Glasgow Rangers on penalties to win the tournament for the first time.

In a photo posted on social media, the former Ghana international was beaming with smiles as the Bundesliga outfit made history on Wednesday night.

Tony Yeboah played for Frankfurt between 1990 to 1995, scoring 68 goals in 123 matches in the Bundesliga.

The 55-year-old is revered in Germany for his exploits in the early 90's following his success with Frankfurt and later Hamburg. He was two-time Bundesliga goal king.

Yeboah scored 29 goals in 59 appearances for the Black Stars.

Ghanaian forward Ansgar Knauff wins Europa League with Frankfurt

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Germany-born forward of Ghanaian descent Ansgar Knauff has won the 2021/22 Europa League title with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 20-year-old was influential for Oliver Glasner's side as they defeated Rangers FC 5-4 on penalties after the tie ended 1-1 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium in Seville.

Knauff, who is on loan from Borussia Dortmund, played the entire duration of the game when they locked horns with the Scottish giants in the final of this season’s Europa League.

Eintracht Frankfurt are the new champions of the 2022 UEFA Europa League.

The Germans defeated Rangers FC 5-4 on penalties after the tie ended 1-1 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium in Seville on Wednesday night.

This is the first time Eintracht Frankfurt have won a European Cup competition in 42 years. Their last victory came in 1980 when they defeated rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach on away goals to win the UEFA Cup.
