Unhappy Former Ghana Coach Charles Akonnor Ready to Expose Black Stars Problems

Charles Kwablan Akonnor, the former head coach of the Black Stars, is preparing to uncover some of the problems in the Ghana team.

The ex-Black Stars captain was sacked as Ghana coach in September 2021 following Ghana's defeat to South Africa in the World Cup qualifiers.

Akonnor has not spoken about his departure since but in an interview with 3 Sports, the 48-year-old said there are issues in the team that needs to be exposed.

"Of course I support the Black Stars, I am a Ghanaian, I love my country," he said. "I was once the coach, it didn't go well, it does not mean anything. I am just a bit not too happy with certain things.
"There were things I was not happy with. I don't like excuses. It is a long story and a long journey. Maybe one day I will tell the story in a book."

C.K Akonnor was coach of the Black Stars between January 2020 to September 2021 before he was replaced by Milovan Rajevac.

The Serbian trainer has also been sacked by the Ghana Football Association following a terrible Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon early this year.

However, the Black Stars, under the leadership of Otto Addo secured a World Cup berth.

C.K Akonnor pens hearty message to Black Stars after sacking

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Former Black Stars coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor, has penned an emotional message to the team after he was sacked by the GFA on Monday, September 13, 2021.

The ex-Ghana captain was shown the exit door after a poor start to the FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

In a post on social media, Akonnor thanked the country's president, Nana Akufo-Addo, the football federation, as well as the team.
