Ghana international Osman Bukari played a vital role as Nantes claimed this season's Coupe de France on Saturday evening.

The Black Stars winger clinched his first trophy in France after Nantes recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Nice at Stade de France.

The victory means Nantes have secured their fourth Coupe de France crown and their first major trophy since 2000.

Osman Bukari came off the bench in the 73rd minute for Nigerian winger Moses Simon and played his part to ensure Antoine Kombouaré's side protect their goal in the game.

In his 17 minutes on the pitch, the 23-year-old made three touches, had 100% pass accuracy, and scored a rating of 6.3, per Sofascore.

How Nantes defeated Nice to win Coupe de France

The first half was cagey for both sides, with few clear-cut chances of note being created as the enormity of the occasion may have affected the players on the pitch.

However, just 15 seconds into the second half, there was drama as Nantes were awarded a penalty.

Nantes striker Ludovic Blas made no mistake from the spot-kick, as the forward smashed his penalty into the top corner.

Les Canaris held on in the dying moments to secure another famous night in their 79-year history - as tempers flared in the dying seconds.

Black Stars Winger Nets Second Goal of the Season as Nantes Beat Bordeaux

Sports Brief earlier reported that Black Stars winger Osman Bukari netted his second goal of the season on Sunday afternoon as Nantes saw off Bordeaux side in the French Ligue 1.

The 23-year-old ended his three-month drought to score for Nantes as they came from behind three times to grab a thrilling 5-3 victory in front of their home fans.

The Ghanaian international came off the bench in the 86th minute and he wasted no time announcing his presence.
