Renowned Football Scout Wants GFA to Give Salisu Ultimatum to Make Up His Mind for Black Stars Call Up

Highly-respected football scout and coach Ebenezer Sefa has urged the Ghana Football Association to provide timelines in their pursuit of Southampton centre-half Mohammed Salisu.

The left-footed defender has declined calls to play for the Black Stars on numerous occasions despite frantic attempts made by the football federation.

Weighing in on the Salisu's pursuit, coach Sefa believes an ultimatum should be issued for the chase of the 22-year-old central defender if he continues to remain coy about joining the Black Stars.

“At least we still have more months before the World Cup. If he’s ready to come and play fine, if he’s not ready we should have confidence in those who are there. I’m not saying we should drop our pursuit of him but there should be a limit." Coach Sefa told Luv FM as quoted by myjoyonline.

He added: "There should be a time limit. If by May when we start our AFCON qualifiers, if we play Angola and that young man has not made up his mind, we should forget about him and concentrate on those who are ready to play because from that time to November when the World Cup starts, we need to focus.”

Ebenezer Sefa, who has scouted for most of the top clubs in the Ghana Premier League, cited other quality players who were no longer considered for national team duties, yet the country thrived.
