- Ghana has been drawn into a difficult group featuring Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal, Uruguay and the Korea Republic
- With Portugal tagged as favorites in Group H and Ghana locking horns against them in the group's opener, a former Ghana international has provided expert opinion on how to deal with the European giants
- Yaw Preko revealed Ronaldo was no longer the threat in the Portuguese team rather rides on the danger posed by his teammates
Ex-Fenerbahçe and Black Stars attacker Yaw Preko has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo does not possess the threat he used to have some years ago and thus Ghana should not focus on the ex-Real Madrid superstar.
Preko, who played 68 times for Ghana, further explained the Black Stars should channel their attention on the dangerous men surrounding Ronaldo instead of the Manchester United attacker.
Ghana has been pitted in Group H alongside Portugal, Uruguay, and the Korea Republic with Ronaldo's Portugal tagged as favorites to qualify from the group.
With an uphill task of reaching the knockout phase, Ghana will first play Portugal before crossing swords with the Korea Republic and Uruguay respectively.
Providing an expert opinion on what the Black Stars can do to upset the odds against the 2016 European champions, Yaw Preko suggested Ghana should throw more light on Ronaldo's support cast as they provide the ammunition.
"We shouldn’t underrate Portugal. I don’t see Ronaldo as a threat but the players around him. Since he came to Manchester United, you can see that physically and psychologically, he is not the same but the players around him are dangerous,” he told Graphic Sports.
