  • Actor turned footballer Lil Win has lamented over his snub for a Black Stars invite ahead of the play-off against Nigeria
  • The New Edubiase player could not make the cut for the double-header despite his cameo role at the Division One side
  • The Black Stars will host their West African rivals on Friday in the first leg of the play-off at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium

Ghanaian comic actor turned footballer, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has reacted furiously after he did not make the Black Stars squad to face Nigeria in the World Cup play-off.

The Kumawood star switched career in October last year after signing for Division One side New Edubiase, making a handful of appearances in the lower league.

However, the self-acclaimed winger believes he has done enough to earn an invite to the national team of Ghana.

“I’m very angry and this is the time we need to speak in Ghana for those leading the various sectors to do the right thing because I don’t understand why I was not invited to be part of the Ghana vs Nigeria game, especially when the game will be played in Kumasi, which is my city,” he said in an interview on Asempa FM as quoted by GhanaSportsOnline.
“How is it that Lilwin is not part of this squad when even Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko want to sign me since l joined New Edubiase? Maybe the coach hates me or he just doesn’t like me. It can also be that the coach was not probably briefed about the best players in Ghana,” he added.

Lil Win has made just one appearance for New Edubiase in the first division.

Lil Win registered by New Edubiase

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghanaian actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has been registered as a player for Ghanaian Division One league side New Edubiase United FC.

The 34-year-old is now officially a footballer of the club despite initially being announced as an ambassador of the Edubiase-based side.

In photos posted on the actor's Instagram page, Lil Win displayed his identification card for the upcoming Division One League season.
