Sulley Muntari, a three times World Cup member of the Black Stars wished Ghana were not playing Nigeria in the World Cup play-offs.

The former Inter Milan star believes Ghana and Nigeria at the World Cup gives Africa a strong representation.

However, with the two sides slated to face each other in a two-legged game later this week, it means either Ghana or Nigeria won't be at the tournament in Qatar.

"I wish we didn't play them (Nigeria) in the Qualifiers because if Nigeria and Ghana are in the World Cup, it's the best thing we can have because they're our brothers," Muntari said in the post match interview of the Hearts and Ashantigold game.

The 37-year-old has been involved in a couple of Ghana versus Nigeria games and knows the intensity that comes with such games.

Muntari was in fine form as Hearts of Oak defeated Ashantigold on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Sulley Muntari continues to excel in the Ghana Premier League after scooping his first Man of the Match award as Hearts of Oak defeated rivals Ashantigold.

The 37-year-old former Inter Milan star was at his best for the club as a brace from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh helped the champions pick all three points in Accra.

After the game, the Ghanaian football legend was presented his player of the match award as he celebrated another win with his teammates.

He has mustered a goal and an assist in six outings for the Phobians, laced with virtuoso displays from midfield which has generated discussions of his inclusion into the national team.
