  • His strike against Heidenheim is Kyereh's fifth goal in the last five matches for St Pauli as the Hamburg-based outfit continue their pursuit of top-flight football

Ghana and St Pauli attacker Daniel-Kofi Kyereh was on the scoresheet for the German Bundesliga hopefuls as they secured a slim win over Heidenheim on Friday night.

The 25-year-old midfielder struck gold for St Pauli seven minutes after the half-hour mark to clinch the maximum three points at stake.

His recent strike at the Millerntor-Stadion means the dead-ball specialist has hit double figures for goals and leads the assist chart for St Pauli.

Kyereh, who is undeniably Ghana's most in-form player in Europe, will be a key figure for coach Otto Addo as the World Cup playoffs against Nigeria looms.

How did Kyereh inspire St Pauli to a vital home win?

After dropping vital points in the race for Bundesliga promotion, Kyereh's St Pauli knew they had to win at all cost to brighten their chances of reaching the topflight.

A stubborn Heidenheim made life difficult for St Pauli as the away side held the Kiezkicker to a goalless first-half.

St Pauli upped the ante in the second half and it came as no surprise when talisman Kofi Kyereh broke the deadlock after he was set up by Leart Paqarada.

With no further additions to the scoreline, St Pauli held on to a vital one-nil win.

St Pauli manager heaps praise on red-hot Kofi Kyereh

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that St. Pauli manager Timo Schultz waxed lyrical over Daniel-Kofi Kyereh's performance in their 3-1 victory against Kalsruher in the German Bundesliga 2 on Saturday.

The Black Stars midfielder put up a man-of-the-match performance for his team over the weekend after he scored a brace as his team romped to a hard-fought victory.

Kyereh's display inspired his German club to go joint-top on the Bundesliga II log on 47 points with Darmstadt who have scored more goals.
