Stephen Appiah, the first Ghanaian captain to qualify Ghana to the World Cup, is definitely molding his son, Rodney Appiah, into a star, after taking time to teach him some basic skills as a footballer.

Appiah's son, Rodney, decided to follow the footsteps of his father by becoming a footballer, having signed for Ghana Premier League side, Great Olympics.

In a video posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, Appiah and his son were displaying their ball joggling skills.

Rodney Appiah joined Accra Great Olympics last season and has seen been an integral member of the squad.

Appiah and his son have formed a formidable bond, with the ex-player, spending most time with Rodney in the gym and exercising together.

Rodney Appiah is yet to hit his father's mark in football, but with the guidance of the legendary ex-Ghana captain, it is expected the youngster could be a star one day.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported that former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has expressed delight after seeing his son, Rodney Appiah, play against former Black Stars teammate Sulley Muntari in the Premier League.

Rodney Appiah, the eldest son of the legendary Ghanaian footballer, played for Great Olympics against Sulley Muntari's Hearts of Oak.

Muntari, who was making his debut for the Phobians, in a video posted on Twitter, is seen being man-marked by Rodney Appiah.

It is very uncommon for a player to play against his teammate's son but that is exactly what Sulley Muntari has done on Sunday.

During the Accra-derby match in the Ghana Premier League, the legendary Ghanaian international achieved a feat that not any other players in history will ever accomplish.

The 37-year-old lined up for Hearts of Oak's 1-0 defeat against Great Olympics, with 19-year-old Rodney Appiah featuring for the Dade Boys, 12 years after his father Stephen Appiah last played alongside Muntari during the 2010 World Cup.
