Hertha Berlin midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng and England-based forward Kwesi Appiah have sparked rumours of a possible return to the Black Stars after reacting to a post on social media about the yet-to-be released Ghana squad for the Nigeria game.

Both players have not been with the Black Stars for years, with K.P Boateng not playing for the team since the 2014 World Cup.

However, reacting to journalist Gary Al-Smith's post on Twitter, the 35-year-old prompted Ghanaians over his availability as he awaits surprises in the squad.

Gary Al-Smith posted: "The Ghana squad for Nigeria. There will be surprises. A few gambles here and there. Let's see how it goes."
The Hertha Berlin player then replied: "Let's see."

Ghanaian football fans got interested in his post, leaving divided opinions.

While K.P Boateng's reply generated some comments, Kwesi Appiah also responded with the words: "let's see."

Ghanaians will now be waiting to see if any of the two will make it for the game against the Super Eagles of Nigeria next Friday.

Meanwhile, Otto Addo will be in the country next week to start preparation for the first leg on March 25, 2022.

The second leg will be played in Abuja four days later.

Sami Khedira reveals K.P Boateng could have been top 5 in the world

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Germany international, Sami Khedira is surprised Kevin-Prince Boateng could not reach his full potential after showing enormous talent during their formative days.

Sami Khedira, a World Cup winner in 2014, started his career with the Hertha Berlin star at the same time and were both in the Germany youth national teams.

The former Real Madrid midfielder, in an interview with ESPN Podcast, spoke highly of the Ghanaian and insisted he could have been one of the best.
