Prolific English Born Striker Earns Debut Black Stars Callup Ahead of Nigeria Showdown

English-born Ghanaian striker Antoine Semenyo has earned a call-up to the Black Stars ahead of the epic encounter against West African neighbours Nigeria.

Semenyo's imperious form since December has seen him involved in the most goals in the English Championship in that period, proceeding to win the Player of the month award in January.

The 22-year-old's renaissance since suffering an injury has courted the interest of the Ghana Football Association.

According to a report filed by renowned sports analyst Bismark Owusu Bempah, affectionately called Ayala, Semenyo is set to earn his maiden call-up to the Black Stars ahead of the FIFA World Cup final eliminator.

Should Semenyo honour the invitation, it would be a massive boost for the Black Stars who are seeking redemption after bowing out of the Africa Cup of Nations in an embarrassing fashion.

Interim Black Stars coach Otto Addo is set to announce his squad in the course of the week for the all-important clash with Nigeria.

Super Eagles announce 32-man squad for Ghana game

Meanwhile, Super Eagles handler Augustine Eguavoen has named a 32-man squad to prosecute the crucial final round world cup qualifier against the Black Stars of Ghana.

Ghana host Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25 and then the reverse fixture is slated for March 29 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Ademola Lookman who recently switched his nationality from England to Nigeria has earned his first-ever call-up to play for the Nigeria senior team.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that English-born Ghanaian attacker Antoine Semenyo has revealed that he was ready to get back to his best after recovering from an injury late last year.

The Bristol City forward has been in top form for the Robins in the English Championship, and he is the player with the most goal contribution in the division since December.

Semenyo who was speaking to Sky Sports revealed confidence has been key to his return to form.
