English Born Left Winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi Could Pledge International Allegiance to Ghana

Crystal Palace winger Jerusan Rak-Sakyi is ready to meet with the Ghana Football Association to discuss an international allegiance switch, it has emerged.

The 19-year-old was born in London to Ghanaian parents but has played three games for England U-20 team, scoring one goal.

He made his goalscoring debut for the U20s during a 6–1 victory over Romania U20s at St. George's Park.

However, Rak-Sakyi is eligible for Ghana as well as England.

Now, it has emerged that a delegation from the GFA are set to talk to the youngster over a potential international allegiance switch.

The news comes amid Rak-Sakyi’s thoroughly impressive form for Crystal Palace.

The Goal Machine

Rak-Sakyi has been in imperious form in his career and has 35 direct goal contributions thus far.

He made 39 appearances across age-groups ranging from U-18s to U-23s, scoring 20 goals and making 15 assists.

Last season, Rak-Sakyi featured for Crystal Palace U-18 where he racked up eight goals and provided nine assists in 20 outings.

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira was full of praises for Ras-Sakyi after his first Premier League game for the Eagles.

“He’s a kid who spent pre-season with us and I was really pleased with what he’s been doing on the field."
"He’s a really lovely kid, a good dribbler and he can score goals as well. We have to work with him to try to help him.”

Rak-Sakyi grateful to Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that English-born Ghanaian teen, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, has been full of praise for Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira, for giving him his English Premier League debut.

The 18-year-old, who joined the club's youth team from Chelsea, was given his first professional contract in July 2021 and after just a month made his Premier League debut.

In a post-match interview with the club's TV, Crystal Palace TV, the youngster expressed gratitude to the 1998 World Cup.
