Ghanaians blast Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac after shocking AFCON exit

Ghanaians have been left outraged by the disastrous performance of the Black Stars at the Africa Cup of Nations after bowing out at the group stages for the first time since 2006.

The four times African champions were bundled out of the tournament after a 3-2 defeat to debutants Comoros Island in the final group C match on Tuesday night.

Fans of the national team vented their anger and frustrations at the head of Ghana's technical team, Milovan Rajevac, after the team failed to win a single game in Cameroon.

"Milo left Ghana and recorded a below-average performance in all his adventures. We went for him when he was unattached for several years and was willing to take less than what he took during his first stint over a decade ago. The appointing authority ignored this," wrote Umar Farouk Atipaga.

"If we were a serious country with serious football admins who gave the coach all the right conditions to succeed, we would have sacked Milo by now after this wishy-washy campaign. But because people in power have a bigger liability for this disgrace, they can’t make the call," added Fentuo Tahiru.

Shatta Wale, Ghanaian music super star wrote: "Without Cup, what is the use of Milo."

"We should not let emotions override our thoughts. Let's pay attention. I see Milo Milo Milo. Yes he's so POOR, BUT he is the minutest of our problems. He will GO but he's not the problem. Don't give anyone an idea to sack Milo just to paper cracks. OUR PROBLEMS ARE BIGGER!!," Saddick Adams, an a ward winning Journalist wrote.

“I will not resign, because I came here to take Ghana to the World Cup.” The unfortunate words of Coach Milo. These words alone confirm that the Serb didn’t approach the AFCON tournament with the seriousness expected of a national coach. He doesn’t deserve the sympathy of the GFA," wrote Gabby Otchere-Darko.

How Black Stars lost to Comoros

Debutants Comoros wasted no time in sending signals of their intentions after netting the opener after just four minutes, when forward El Fardou Ben Mohammed left goalkeeper Jojo Wollocat stunned with a left foot strike.

The Black Stars were reduced to ten men after 25 minutes, after the referee sent off captain Andre Ayew for a foul of Comoros goalie Ben Moina. Comoros took advantage and got their second on the hour mark through Ahmed Mogni.

But Ghana responded through second half substitute Richmond Boakye Yiadom and defender Alexander Djiku to level the score with 13 minutes remaining.

And just when Ghana were chasing for a winner, Comoros punished them with a third five minutes remaining.
