  • Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has been left bitterly disappointed after the Black Stars were held by Gabon at the Africa Cup of Nations
  • The West African giants saw an 18th minute lead cancelled by the Gabonese side with two minutes remaining
  • It is the second time the four times African champions are conceding late at the tournament

Legendary Ghanaian forward, Asamoah Gyan almost broke down to tears after watch the Black Stars disappointingly throw away an early lead to draw 1-1 against Gabon.

Andre Ayew had scored an 18th minute belter to give Ghana the lead, but Jim Allevinah's 88th minute equalizer meant Ghana could only settle for a draw.

Gyan, who is working with SuperSport as a pundit, expressed disappointment and insists the team should not be losing concentration in games like that.

“I’m not happy. We deserved the three points. Unfortunately, we lost concentration, and we can’t keep conceding late goals," he said on SuperSport.

The Black Stars have only a point from two games and will now have to beat Comoros with a good scoreline to stand a chance of finishing one of the best third place sides.

The four times African champions are hoping to end their 40-year wait for the AFCON title, but it looks like that will be an uphill task with the way the team has started the competition.
