Reece James started the dispute on Twitter after posting a cryptic post

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Chelsea defender Reece James appeared to send a subtle dig at Crystal Palace's winger Wilfried Zaha following his side's victory on Saturday. Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 2-1, with Connor Gallagher scoring right at the death against his former side.

Odsonne Edouard had opened the scoring against the run of play to shock Graham Potter's side. Veteran defender Thiago Silva was lucky to escape a straight red card for denial of a goal-scoring opportunity.

Zaha was largely subdued in the game as he failed to make the desired impact for Patrick Viera's side. He had a ferocious shot on target that was parried away by Kepa Arrizabalaga. James afterwards took to his Twitter account and posted a picture of himself and Zaha along with a padlock emoji which could mean he had safely kept the winger at bay.
