Jordan Ayew and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi were on the score sheet for Crystal Palace as they defeated Millwall 5-4 in a pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon.

The Ghanaian duo played instrumental roles as Patrick Vieira's side claimed their first win of pre-season in a frantic game with the Championship side.

Palace broke the deadlock through Eberechi Eze after three minutes, but Benik Afobe equalised for Millwall almost immediately.

Ayew scored for the hosts as Palace took the lead again but Milwall fought back to grab another equaliser through Afobe.

Palace started the game on a brighter note in the second and got two goals courtesy of strikes from Jake O'Brien and Christian Benteke. But they were yet again pegged back by Milwall.

Charlie Cresswell halved the deficit before Zian Flemming volleyed another equaliser home with nine minutes of normal time remaining — but Patrick Vieira’s men were not to be denied.

Just a minute later, youngster Rak-Sakyi found a fifth to hand Palace victory.

Rak-Sakyi set to switch international allegiance to play for Ghana

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace winger Jerusan Rak-Sakyi is ready to meet with the Ghana Football Association to discuss an international allegiance switch, it has emerged.

The 19-year-old was born in London to Ghanaian parents but has played three games for England U-20 team, scoring one goal.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp and youngster Jesurun Rak-Sakyi have resumed pre-season with English outfit Crystal Palace ahead of the looming 2022-23 season.

The Ghanaian-born duo and their teammates took to the grass on Wednesday, June 29, as they prepare for the new season.

Several academy players, including Rak-Sakyi stepped up to join the senior side in training.
