  • Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is the new coach of German giants Bayern Munich
  • The German was fired last year by owner Todd Boehly and Graham Potter replaced him
  • Reports in the media are linking some of his former players to a move to the Bundesliga

One of the most significant decisions made by Chelsea's new owners since they completed their takeover was to part ways with beloved head coach, Thomas Tuchel and replace him with former Brighton & Hove Albion manager, Graham Potter.

Tuchel endeared himself to the Blues faithful by winning the 2021 UEFA Champions League four months after taking over from club legend, Frank Lampard.

The German would not stay out of a job for long as he is the newly appointed manager of Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich and rumours are already circulating that he would love to take some of his former players with him.

He has now expressed the desire to work with his compatriot again in an interview with German newspaper, Bild, as quoted by Sun UK.

“Bayern are generally a huge club that it’s hard to say no to as a German player," Havertz said. “But my personal goal has always been to play abroad at some point. In England or Spain."
“I had a very good relationship with [Tuchel] and am very grateful for everything. You never know what will happen in football. Everything can happen very quickly. Never say never.”

Chelsea exit still hurts Tuchel

Many Chelsea fans still hold an emotional attachment to Tuchel and it is understandable why. The boss has also opened up on his departure, claiming it still hurts him.

“It was a shock. I already felt it in the morning when I drove to training. We thought we would stay longer and build something up. It still hurts. Chelsea was like family to me,” he told Abendzeitung. “I still text the (Chelsea) players.”

Chelsea disappointed with Tuchel

Sports Brief reported that Chelsea expressed disappointment with Tuchel for publicly targeting a staff member to join him at Bayern Munich.

Anthony Barry is the set-piece coach and joined the Blues under club legend, Lampard. He is now wanted by Tuchel in the Bavarians set-up.

While work is ongoing to release him, Chelsea's top brass are upset that Tuchel mentioned the move in public before a deal was finalised.
