Chelsea youngster Andrey Santos has left Stamford Bridge to join Brazilian side Vasco da Gama on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

The teenage sensation signed for the Blues during the January transfer window in an £18million deal.

However, he has been unable to break into Graham Potter's team, leaving him with no choice but to depart in search of first team action.

Santos' switch to Vasco da Gama comes just days after he was spotted at the stands watching the club in action.

Chelsea confirms Santos exit

Chelsea have since confirmed the youngster's departure, with the club announcing:

"Andrey Santos is moving back to Brazil, re-joining his previous club Vasco da Gama on loan."
The 18-year-old midfielder signed for Chelsea in January from his boyhood club, whom he helped to promotion to the top flight last year. He now has the opportunity to develop further at that level," the statement continued.

The Brazilian's exit comes weeks after Potter revealed Santos was yet to feature for Chelsea as he was still lacking a work permit.

Potter disclosed that the club were still working around the clock to align the teenager's paperwork.

Chelsea fans react to De Zerbi rumours

Sports Brief earlier reported that Chelsea fans say the same thing about the reports that the club will replace Graham Potter if he gets sacked with his replacement at Brighton, Roberto De Zerbi.

The fans agreed Todd Boehly, who has been looking to buy a second club for his multi-club model, should just buy Brighton and move staff and players around between the two clubs.

Germany head coach Hansi Flick, former Spain manager Luis Enrique and former Chelsea boss José Mourinho are other managers reportedly on the club's shortlist.
