Former Nigerian international Mikel Obi has named Carlo Ancelotti as the best manager he played under at Chelsea thereby snubbing Jose Mourinho who brought him to the club.

Ancelotti who is currently the gaffer at Real Madrid was at Chelsea from 2009-2011 winning one Premier League title and FA Cup before he left Stamford Bridge.

During the Italian's reign at Chelsea, Obi enjoyed active playing time as Ancelotti gave the Nigerian enough time to exhibit his talent on the pitch.

Obi's statement about Ancelotti

“We enjoyed training with Carlo Ancelotti. He was the best in man management I ever heard at Chelsea.
“When he came in, we played a little five-aside game, we did a little show run. The way he speaks to the players, he is so calm.
“He doesn’t raise his voice towards the players or shout at you. He passes his message across in a meaningful way. Other managers will shout at you if you are not doing well, like Mourinho, he is a totally different animal.”

How Chelsea fed Mikel's family

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how former Nigeria midfielder, John Obi Mikel finally broke his silence on the transfer saga between Manchester United and Chelsea before his move to England.

The 35-year-old had signed a pre-contract with the Red Devils but ended up moving to the Blues instead.

Obi Mikel disclosed that before moving to England, Chelsea were already taking care of his family and his education as a teenager in Norway.

Mikel explained that Chelsea had actually sent him to the Norwegian club, but this was not common knowledge.
